Who we are

Butterfly Nails & Beauty runs two nail, lash and brow studios in Vancouver: Kitsilano (3252 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6K 2H4, (604) 733 5648) and West Point Grey (4385 W 10th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6R 2H6, (604) 564 9886). Each studio is responsible for the information it collects from its own clients.

What we collect

Your name, mobile number and email when you book with us, online through Fresha or in person.
Appointment details: services, dates, the technician you saw, and notes you ask us to keep (for example lash preferences or sensitivities).
Anything you send us through this website, such as the text message sign up form.

We do not collect payment card numbers on this website. Online bookings and gift cards are handled by Fresha under its own privacy policy.

How we use it

To book, confirm and manage your appointments.
To send you the text messages described below, if you agreed to receive them.
To answer your questions and keep good records of your care.

We never sell your information.

Text messages (SMS terms)

Program: Butterfly Nails & Beauty appointment texts. After a visit we may send one short message thanking you and asking if you would leave a review of your visit. We may also text about your booking.

How you join: by ticking the consent box on our text updates sign up, or by telling the front desk at either studio that you agree, at which point we note your consent and the date in our records.

Frequency: up to 2 messages per visit. Cost: message and data rates may apply.

Opt out: reply STOP to any message and we will stop texting you right away. Reply HELP for help, or call either studio.

Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. Mobile numbers and text message consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that help us run the studios: Fresha (bookings and gift cards), our text message provider (to deliver texts) and our website host. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

We keep client records while you are a client and for a reasonable time afterwards for our records. People who opt out of texts are kept on a do not text list so we never message them again.

Your choices

You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you, or ask us to stop texting you, at any time. Under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act you can also make a complaint to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC.
